What’s Being Built?
The project, contracted to Graham Construction, involves significant infrastructure improvements designed to boost connectivity, safety, and traffic efficiency for our growing area. Key components include:
- Building the north half of a four-lane divided roadway (two lanes eastbound, two lanes westbound) in the Transportation Utility Corridor (TUC)
- Constructing the separated westbound-to-southbound bypass and loop ramp
- Installing dual left-turn lanes:
- Southbound-to-eastbound at the west terminal
- Northbound-to-westbound at the east terminal
- Adding a westbound-to-northbound directional ramp and an eastbound-to-northbound loop ramp
- Reconfiguring the eastbound-to-southbound ramp (reducing from two lanes to one)
- Upgrading signalized intersections at both east and west interchange terminals

Why This Matters to Our Community
- Smoother Traffic Flow: With the expansion to four lanes and dedicated turning ramps, bottlenecks will be significantly reduced.
- Improved Safety: Streamlined traffic routes and clearer lane separations help minimize collision risks and confusion.
- Support for Growth: As nearby communities expand east of Stoney Trail, this upgrade connects us more seamlessly to the broader transportation network.
- Efficient Construction: Graham has prioritized keeping traffic moving along Stoney Trail and Airport Trail during construction, reducing disruptions wherever possible.
